Random spring drive to a town I've never been to (Frederick, MD) means lots of pictures of blooming flora. I get why pastels are so crucial in the early months of the year. I was told by a good friend (and sometimes-Maryland-local) that there was great thrifting to be had here. I went kind of late in the day on the off-chance that I might be able to find something cool to do. I was met with lots of charm (uh duh, small town and what not) but also lots of empty/closed-up storefronts and unimpressive food choices. Thought ordering the super-spicy recommended dish would impress the staff of the Vietnamese restaurant. But upon asking for a glass of water, my waitress kept checking on me, with the assumptive tone that it was too much. Girl please. I can handle it.
